Privacy Statement
Our privacy statement sets out what to expect when you provide Micon Distribution Ltd with your personal information. The current version is effective as of 25th May 2018.
How we collect and use your data
Visiting our website
When you visit www.micon-dist.com we use a third-party service, Google Analytics, to collect information about how you use the site. We monitor overall patterns of user behaviour including, for example, how people find our website, which pages are most often visited, how long visits typically last or which browsers and devices our visitors use.
In order to better understand how customers use our website and which features are most popular we use a third party service called Woopra, Inc., in the USA, to log the pages you view and the actions you take on www.micon-dist.com (for example logging in, adding items to your basket, looking at products and categories).
Our website is hosted by Amazon Web Services. You can read more about how they process and protect data on our behalf on the Amazon Web Services website.
Placing an order with us
When you place an order online or by phone we collect your name, address and contact details enabling us to fulfil your order and to update you on its progress. Payment card data may also be collected by, or passed to, one of several payment service providers. These are currently:
- SagePay
- Worldpay
- Adflex
In addition to retaining financial records, we may retain details of your order for the typical expected lifetime of a stove or appliance, which we estimate to be ten years. This enables us to fulfil our obligations in relation to product warranties and, where applicable, our legal liability for the products we sell to you.
Transactional (non-marketing) emails, including order confirmations and dispatch notifications, are sent via SendGrid, an email delivery service. We provide them with your email address for the purpose of sending these messages and ensuring that they reach you successfully.
Your order is delivered by a third party delivery company, for example Royal Mail, DPD, TPN or Fortec. We provide them with your name, address and contact information for the purposes of shipping your order.
Contacting us by phone
Calls to Micon Distribution may be recorded for security and training purposes. Recordings are kept for up to one year.
Joining our mailing lists
When you give your consent to join one of our mailing lists, your name and email address are sent to Mailchimp, who help us manage and track our email marketing activities. You can update your subscription, or remove yourself entirely from email marketing, using the link in the footer of every email we send. Mailchimp are hosted outside the EU. You can read their privacy policy online.
Manage your personal information
You have the right to access and update your personal information held by us or by third party data processors. With some legal limitations, you also have the right to remove or restrict processing of the personal information we hold about you. Please contact us by any of the published contact methods if you would like to make changes.
The easiest way to withdraw consent for email marketing activity is to follow the link that appears in the footer of all marketing emails we send.
